About

Space Sweden North is both a growing cluster and an active development project connecting research, industry, and public partners. The wider cluster brings together organizations across the full value chain—from rocket testing and launching to satellite operations, data analytics and applications—connecting and strengthening Europe’s northern gateway to space.

The current Space Sweden North project, co-funded by the European Union, focuses on four priority areas:

  • strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem and collaboration,
  • developing infrastructure and test environments,
  • supporting innovation and enterprise growth, and
  • advancing communication and international outreach.

Led by Luleå University of Technology with IRF, SSC, LTU Business, and Arctic Business, Space Sweden North builds on the legacy of the RIT projects —creating an open, inclusive environment where researchers, companies, and public actors can explore, test, and grow together from the edge of Europe into the future of space.
